ELIZABETH!!!!

Okay, first off: Happy Birthday!!!!! Second, yes, I'm a smuck. It's taken me this long to get my act together and check out your newly updated site. It is awesome. I love the blog, the news, all that you are doing with it. It sounds like everything is going well in Happy Valley! Things have been especially crazy this past year with Ella, Jack, Kier and Mick and job. Who knew first grade would be so involved? Hee hee. Shoot me an email when you get a chance. :) love, tam

[...] I have decided to share the aforementioned short story, “The House God.” You can find it here or using the tab at the top of the site. Let me know what you think! A sample: I watched Oyimbo, the peeled one, lying under her mosquito net from the rafter in my sacred corner. She was writing in her red book by flashlight as she did every night since she arrived in my house. I did not mind sharing my house with her until nighttime when her eyelids slid shut, her mouth inched open, and the pig came out. [...]

You said, "Do I have to make a decision?" It seems to me one only MUST make a decision if one is in a situation to affect change or maintain the status quo. In other words, unless one is a delegate and asked to vote on the issue then ambivalence is acceptable. My biggest frustration is with those who believe ambivalence is a virtue. It should not be considered a virtue, but rather an occasional necessity.
